I was a bit worried about how it would feel to participate in such a packed plan that would be hard to manage individually. The first stop was Hell Valley in Noboribetsu. The smell of sulfur and the smoke were incredibly impressive. There were stairs and slopes, but there were handrails, so it was safe to walk.

Next, we visited Showa Shinzan and the Bear Ranch. Participation at the Bear Ranch was optional, but everyone joined in. It was fun to see the large bears up close and even feed them!
